The Hospital for Special Surgery leased 38,000 square feet in East Meadow where it will open offices for outpatient services.
The new facility at 90 Merrick Ave. will expand the Manhattan-based hospital’s presence on Long Island, adding to its existing 37,307-square-foot center in Uniondale.
The new HSS facility in East Meadow will offer some similar services as the hospital’s offices at 333 Earle Ovington Blvd. in Uniondale, which has 40 physicians specializing in surgical and nonsurgical sports medicine, arthritis, joint replacement surgery, pain management, pediatric orthopedics, physiatry, spinal care, rheumatology and other treatments. It also offers diagnostic radiology and physical therapy.
This summer, HSS is also planning to open a 3,178-square-foot facility in Southampton for physician visits and x-ray services.
Ted Stratigos of Avison Young represented HSS, while John LaRuffa of Cushman & Wakefield represented landlord CLK Properties in the East Meadow lease transaction.
