Marvel star Jeremy Renner has shared a touching message he received from his nephew following his accident. Perhaps best known for his role as Clint “Hawkeye” Barton in the MCU, the action star was involved in a serious accident involving a snowcat plow in January this year. Reports that came out of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office would shed further light on the incident, revealing that Renner was attempting to stop the snowplow from hitting his nephew when he was pulled under the machine and seriously injured.
Most recently, Renner took to Instagram to share a beautiful handwritten note from his young nephew Auggie. It is not currently clear whether this is the same nephew that Renner attempted to rescue on the day of the accident. With Auggie writing that he was thankful for Renner surviving the potentially fatal encounter, Renner captioned his photo of the message by saying that he loved his “little man.” Check out Renner’s post below:
What We Know About Jeremy Renner’s Expected Recovery
News of the Hawkeye star’s accident broke on New Year’s Day, when Renner was airlifted to the hospital and his representatives released an official statement confirming the incident. His family would later provide additional details, revealing that he “suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” that required surgery. Renner would later take to social media from his hospital bed to thank his fans for their outpouring of love and assure them that he was on the road to recovery.
Since then, the actor has been keeping everyone apprised of his ongoing treatment, regularly sharing updates and glimpses of his physical therapy. Revealing that he sustained some “30 plus broken bones,” many have estimated that it may take the 52-year-old actor up to two years to fully recover from his extensive injuries. However, aided by Renner’s access to high-tech rehabilitation equipment and an iron will, it seems that he is intent on getting back on his feet as quickly as possible.
Currently surrounded by loved ones and spurred on by an outpouring of support from fans and his fellow stars, Renner seems intent on throwing himself wholeheartedly into his ongoing recovery. Renner has already stated that he is keen to get back to work on his upcoming Disney+ show Rennervations when he finally gets “back on [his] feet.” In the meantime, Renner’s nephew will not be the only one hoping for a speedy recovery.
