New Joker: Folie à Deux set photos reveal a major Batman villain reference in the upcoming film. As a new DC Universe is on its way, the Joker franchise is going forward as its own self-contained Elseworlds story, focusing on Arthur Fleck. After its major success in 2019, Joker: Folie à Deux is currently shooting with Todd Phillips back to direct. Unlike the first installment, the Joker sequel will be a musical. One of the big additions for Joker: Folie à Deux is Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
Photos have recently given a better look at Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn. Production on Joker: Folie à Deux is expected to last for a few more months.
In new Joker: Folie à Deux set photos from @HomeOfDCU, banners were spotted that highlight another iconic Batman villain. While he is not there in person, Harvey Dent’s name can be spotted, with one banner saying, “Dent Is A Clown.”
How Harvey Dent Fits Into Joker 2
Thus far, it has not been confirmed if Harvey will actually make an actual appearance in Joker: Folie à Deux. It’s possible that either Harry Lawtey or Jacob Lofland is playing him. Currently, they have been cast in undisclosed roles, which sets up the possibility. Whether or not either actor will actually become Two-Face in this film is unclear.
However, there are other ways for Harvey to fit into the larger story of Joker: Folie à Deux. With Harvey’s role as a District Attorney in the comics, he could serve as a rival to Joker. Depending on what chaos Joker and Harley will be causing, Harvey may be going after them. That wouldn’t require him to be Two-Face yet and instead utilize his role as a lawful opponent.
Once Joker: Folie à Deux wraps filming, time will tell if Harvey Dent actually has a larger role in the film. An Elseworlds take on Harvey Dent would be intriguing, especially in contrast to Gotham Knights’ ongoing version. Hopefully, Joker: Folie à Deux will make it clear if fans will get to see Phillips’ take on Harvey.
