Following the launch of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth ($14.99) on iOS back in 2017, we hadn’t heard anything about the remaining DLC or expansions hitting iOS. In fact, the iOS version was delisted and brought back more than once with no update to the game for modern screens or anything. Today, Nicalis founder and executive producer of The Binding of Isaac Tyrone Rodriguez Tweeted (spotted by TouchArcade reader Saucycarpdog) a video of The Binding of Isaac: Repentance on iPhone. He went on to confirm in replies that it will have controller support and will launch in 2023. The Binding of Isaac: Repentance released as $20 DLC for The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on Switch, and the mobile version is missing more than just The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, so I’m interested to see how it is released. Read our review of the original iOS game here. Watch the video in the Tweet below:

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is an earlier version of the current game on other platforms. Since Rebirth, Afterbirth and Afterbirth+ hit PC and console with The Binding of Isaac: Repentance being the newest version and expansion. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is currently still $14.99 on iOS. I’d recommend waiting to see what Nicalis does for The Binding of Isaac: Repentance on iOS before buying anything. We don’t know if The Binding of Isaac: Repentance will be a brand new game or an update with paid DLC for the existing release. Right now, The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is available for $59.99 on Xbox Series X as a complete game with all content and expansions. Tyrone also hinted at Apple TV support. I’m curious to see the pricing and release for this. I played a ton of it on Nintendo Switch, but it would definitely be better, like Dead Cells, on iPhone with a Razer Kishi or Backbone. What do you think of this tease and video for The Binding of Isaac: Repentance on iOS?
