Without many people to choose from, Florian, who became the new fan favorite, asked Georgi to be his best man. Although Stacey was not initially happy with his decision, she is trying to support his choices. However, Stacey also recognizes how uncomfortable it would be for Darcey to be her maid of honor alongside Georgi as the best man. During Florian’s birthday dinner, he revealed to Darcey that he chose Georgi as his best man for the wedding, and Darcey felt betrayed by his decision.
Georgi Is Florian’s Closest Friend In The U.S.
Florian should be able to choose his best man since it’s his wedding as much as Stacey’s and not Darcey’s. Florian explained that he naturally grew close to Georgi due to their proximity while dating the Silva twins. Furthermore, Florian and Georgi, who fans compared, also bonded over their shared experience as immigrants. Florian’s small social circle in the U.S. also means he has limited choices for his best man. Since Florian’s family can’t attend his wedding, he wants Georgi to come as his closest friend in the U.S.
Darcey Would Not Want To Be Around Georgi After Their Breakup
However, Florian still must recognize why it is awkward for Darcey to be around Georgi. Darcey and Georgi had a rocky relationship, often arguing over issues like his financial responsibility and secretive past. When they broke off their engagement, Darcey wanted to put the toxic relationship in the past and move forward, but Florian’s choice to make Georgi his best man inhibits that. While Georgi is Florian’s closest friend, Darcey is his sister-in-law, and he should respect her feelings on the matter.
Although Darcey is moving on with dating other men, it is unlikely she will ever be at peace with Florian having Georgi as the best man, but in the end, it is not her decision to make. On Darcey & Stacey, Florian seems to be letting Stacey takes the reins with the wedding preparations, so he should be able to choose his best man at least. Still, it is undeniable that Georgi’s possible attendance at the wedding would negatively affect Darcey, considering the poor history of their relationship.
