Camila Mendes, who portrays Veronica Lodge on Riverdale, reveals which prop she got from the set and another that she’d like to grab. Riverdale first premiered in 2017 and is a loose adaptation of the characters and stories from Archie Comics. The series is gearing up to release its seventh season on March 29, which will serve as its very last. On the show, Veronica is the daughter of the shifty criminal Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos), whom she often tries to protect Riverdale and her friends from.
In an interview with InStyle, Mendes reveals which prop she snagged from the set. Technically, it was a gift given to her by the props team. However, now that she has one, she is hoping to nab another once Riverdale officially ends. Check out Mendes’ comments below:
One of the props people gave me a gift. There’s a portrait that hangs above Hiram Lodge’s office that’s of Veronica, cross-legged with her hands on her knees. It’s very regal and I have it above my guest bathroom toilet currently. And I intend on stealing a different artwork that’s of Veronica walking through lions. Once the show’s over, I’m going to ask them to give me that. I also want that in the bathroom. I just want people to be peeing and then looking up at me staring at them.
Everything We Know About Riverdale Season 7
Riverdale season 7 will run from March to August and consist of a total of 20 episodes. Hopefully, the episodes will be enough to cover everything the season must answer after the shocking twists of season 6. Riverdale takes place in the present day, but also experienced a seven-year time jump in season 5. Hence, the main characters began to live out their adult lives despite them initially being introduced as students. However, Riverdale season 6 undid this time jump by bringing the characters back to high school age in the 1950s.
Riverdale season 6 jumped boldly into the realm of superpowers and the supernatural and found the characters fighting to save the town from a comet. Though Riverdale was saved, the comet resets everything, bringing the characters back to the 1950s when they’re in their junior year in high school. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) is seemingly the only one who remembers the comet and realizes they’re in the wrong time period. Riverdale season 7 is expected to explore the gang’s lives in the 1950s, Jughead’s attempts to convince them of the truth, and the potential return to their own time.
The main stars of Riverdale are all expected to return for the final season, including K.J. Apa, Lili Reinhart, Sprouse, Mendes, Madeline Petsch, Charles Melton, and Mädchen Amick. Additionally, Nicholas Barasch and Karl Walcott will appear as new characters Julian Blossom and Clay Walker, respectively. Julian has previously appeared on Riverdale, but as a creepy doll. It’s unclear how he is a human now, but perhaps the odd Julian storyline will finally be resolved.
Riverdale season 7 airs Wednesdays on The CW beginning March 29.
