Multiple classic Power Rangers locations are teased in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always trailer. After 30 years of Power Rangers seasons, Netflix’s Once & Always will have the difficult challenge of celebrating Mighty Morphin’s anniversary while also incorporating three decades of Power Rangers lore. However, the Once & Always trailer suggests that the Power Rangers reunion will succeed in its mission.
There are dozens of Power Rangers: Once & Always trailer Easter eggs, many of which tie into the Mighty Morphin era.
That said, the Once & Always trailer also references many other Power Rangers shows, as well as the Super Sentai series that started it all – Kyouryu Sentai Zyuranger. Between Rita’s palace and Lost Galaxy’s Terra Venture, here is a breakdown of all nine Power Rangers locations teased in the Once & Always trailer.
Rita’s Bandora Palace
The first major Power Rangers location teased in the Once & Always trailer is Rita’s castle, also known as the Bandora Palace. The Bandora Palace was named after Witch Bandora, Rita Repulsa’s counterpart in Zyuranger. It is not clear whether Rita’s palace in Once & Always is the exact same one from her Mighty Morphin days, although Rita’s magic is strong enough to bring her old castle back. The Power Rangers trailer reveals the Megazord in what appears to be the moon, further confirming that Rita’s Bandora Palace is back.
Power Rangers’ New Command Center
The Power Rangers have a new Command Center in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always. Whereas Rita Repulsa’s Bandora Palace could very well be the same as the Zordon era, the Command Center spotted in the Power Rangers: Once & Always trailer cannot possibly be the original one, as it was completely destroyed by the end of Power Rangers Turbo. The Power Rangers’ new Command Center has a reference to Aquitar, a planet where the presumably new Power Rangers leader Billy lived for years.
Angel Grove’s Youth Center
Though it is difficult to say whether some Power Rangers trailer moments take place in Angel Grove, one scene toward the end is absolutely set in the Power Rangers’ home town. Angel Grove’s Youth Center, where Ernie’s Juicy Bar and the gym were located, appears in the Power Rangers: Once & Always trailer. As Zack warns Rita’s putties, attacking Angel Grove’s Youth Center is a huge mistake, as it breaks Power Rangers’ unspoken no-escalation agreement between the Rangers and Rita.
Coral Harbor (Power Rangers: Beast Morphers)
Coral Harbor is the first of many Power Rangers locations referenced in the Power Rangers: Once & Always trailer’s Bandora Protocol screen. Coral Harbor served as the main location for Power Rangers: Beast Morphers, one of the newest Power Rangers TV shows. The latest Power Rangers show, Dino Fury, established that the Beast Morphers Rangers continue to operate.
Reefside (Power Rangers Dino Thunder)
Reefside is a reference to one of the 2000s’ most popular Power Rangers seasons, Power Rangers Dino Thunder. Most of the events of Power Rangers Dino Thunder were set in Reefside, to which former Green Ranger Tommy Oliver had moved. Dr. Oliver was the professor and mentor to Conner, Ethan, and Kira, who became the Dino Thunder Power Rangers.
Astro Megaship (Power Rangers in Space)
Astro Megaship, which is also listed in the Bandora Protocol screen, is one of the most important locations in Power Rangers history. Introduced in Power Rangers in Space, the Astro Megaship served as the base for Andros, the Space Red Ranger, and his team of Power Rangers who had just arrived from Earth. In addition to being a fast and powerful ship, the Astro Megaship was also secretly a Megazord – it could transform into the Astro Megazord. The Astro Megaship returned in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, which also took place outside of Earth, making it a symbol of Power Rangers shows set in space.
Turtle Cove (Power Rangers Wild Force)
Turtle Cove was Power Rangers Wilde Force’s main location. Released in 2002, Power Rangers Wild Force continued to move the saga from the Zordon era by following a group of Rangers with no ties to the previous seasons. It was during Power Rangers Wild Force, however, that multiple Red Rangers battled together in the Power Rangers Forever Red crossover, which celebrated Power Rangers’ 10th anniversary.
Terra Venture (Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)
Power Rangers Lost Galaxy’s Terra Venture is referenced in the Power Rangers: Once & Always’ trailer. Like the Astro Megaship, Terra Venture is among the most important locations in the Power Rangers universe. Introduced in Lost Galaxy’s first episode, Terra Venture was a massive space base that would serve as home to thousands of earthlings amidst the vastness of the universe. Terra Venture’s mission was to explore a “lost galaxy” and find a potentially habitable planet. That said, Terra Venture was destroyed at the end of Lost Galaxy, although a new version of it could have been created.
Power Rangers’ S.P.A. Base
Johnny Yong Bosch’s Adam (Mighty Morphin’s second Black Ranger, Zeo Green Ranger, and Turbo’s first Green Ranger) and Karan Ashley’s Aisha (Mighty Morphin’s second Yellow Ranger) appear in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always trailer. Adam and Aisha are both in S.P.A. uniforms, establishing that the former Rangers are now part of some sort of organization. The S.P.A., which might stand for Space Patrol Academy or Space Patrol Alpha, seems to be an early Space Patrol Delta (as in Power Rangers S.P.D.), suggesting that Adam and Aisha are currently in space.
