A new month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons means new activities for players who have yet to experience the wonders of April. There are new chances to collect critters missing from collections and earn some special seasonal items. Whether players have their island set to the Northern Hemisphere or Southern Hemisphere, they’ll be able to enjoy two unique events this month alongside the season’s Fishing Tournament.
Unlike the barren nature of Animal Crossing events in March, April includes both Bunny Day and Nature Day as special events. Bunny Day is the Animal Crossing equivalent of Easter, occurring at the same time. Bunny Day involves Zipper T. Bunny’s annual island visit and egg hunt challenge. Nature Day, formerly Earth Day, includes Leif the Sloth’s Garden Shop getting an inventory boost and unique Nook Miles+ challenges. In addition, the Spring Fishing Tournament will test players’ fishing skills and unlock fun fish and fisherman-themed items.

April Event Dates & Seasonal Items
Bunny Day runs from April 2nd to April 9th, with the final day matching the real-world celebration of Easter Sunday. Players can meet Bunny on the 2nd and begin hunting for eggs, reuniting with him on the 9th. This Animal Crossing event can reward players with a bunny, egg, and Easter-themed recipes and items, although many Animal Crossing players hate Bunny Day. The April 2023 Fishing Tournament is on April 8th, giving players a break from the egg-hunting madness for fun fish prizes like a fish umbrella.
April also features Nature Day, running from the 4th to the 22nd. The main seasonal items players can collect are special flowers, but the fun comes with the Nook Miles+ bonuses. Completing these challenges can help players quickly farm Nook Miles, giving them a great reason to return to Animal Crossing: New Horizons for April 2023.
