Joyce Del Viscovo from My 600-lb Life has disappeared from the internet after failing to achieve her weight-loss goals. When the 44-year-old Kansas native debuted on My 600-lb Life season 8 in 2020, she was over 750 pounds and in critical condition. Not only did Joyce have self-care problems, but she also had mobility issues due to her short height, which is only 4’11.
When Joyce sought the help of My 600-lb Life’s Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, she was the same age as her dad when he passed away due to a heart attack. She had trouble getting out of bed, was extremely depressed, and was paying her friend to help her through normal tasks. Joyce’s weight problems began at a young age when her parents got divorced. Later, one of her stepbrothers sexually abused her, leading to more psychological issues. At 20, Joyce was already 400 pounds, and her continued poor lifestyle made her reach over 750 pounds by the time she was 44.
My 600-lb Life’s Joyce Del Viscovo May Not Have Achieved Goals
Joyce had a terrible experience while following Dr. Now’s program, as she struggled to eat less and lose weight to get the surgery. The My 600-lb Life star felt that following a 1200-calorie diet was not helping her lose weight, and the program was not working. As a result of her lack of trust in the doctor’s advice and her lack of enthusiasm for losing weight, Joyce was only able to drop 134 pounds and left the program after nine months (via Looper). Her attitude about consuming food never changed, and she also forced her caretakers to feed her. Therefore, it appears that Joyce likely didn’t progress more after she vanished from social media.
In 2023, Joyce doesn’t appear to have any active social profiles. It’s clear she doesn’t want to be in the limelight after appearing on My 600-lb Life. She likely lives a private life and doesn’t want people talking about her. It can be assumed that Joyce lives in her home and doesn’t leave very often. Her actions on My 600-lb Life and her lack of public presence hint that she isn’t following her fitness goals anymore; otherwise, she would have loved to show off her results on social media.
My 600-lb Life Viewers Never Believed In Joyce Del Viscovo
Expectations were low for Joyce on the show as she doubted Dr. Now and wasn’t aiming to lose weight naturally. She only wanted to get the surgery for quick results. When the doctor told her she needed to lose weight before surgery, Joyce showed no enthusiasm and quit the program instead. An Instagram post by the fan page kassandra600lblife suggests that many fans had no hope for Joyce. While one Instagram user called the former My 600-lb Life cast member the “laziest,” others said, “They all come with the same excuses,” and “Excuses and blaming everybody else.” Still, let’s hope that the My 600-lb Life alum is still happy and healthy.
